From the St. sburg Times,

St. sburg, Florida (www.

sptimes.com - I could not locate

the article online, however)

Section A page 10A Wed. 5/29/02

Compiled from Times wires--

" Mother fights suit over son's

castration "

Summary- A single Parent with a

brain-damaged adolescent

son who was becoming

aggressive had him castrated

and without his informed consent.

British Columbia legal

authorities took the Mother

and Doctors to task

" claiming the operation was

disfiguring and increased the

young man's risk of early aging,

bone degeneration and fatigue.. "

The Public Trustee also castigated

the Doctors quipping " they and the hospital were

unlawful, unethical, high-handed,

arrogant and demeaning " to the man.

The hospital and Doctors settled

but the Mother would not admit

wrong and filed a counter-suit.

Anyone got the stats on how many

oophorectomies are routinely performed

on women in British Columbia/Canada

without a hitch?

Marsha
