Guest guest
Hi, Her red marks are awful. I am having some trouble getting good pics. I am loading them on now. Should be up in a minute on her part. Thanks.
Guest guest
, I think I was looking at them as they were loading. I kept hitting next Anyway the first one (on the cheek) isn't so bad - I suspect it goes away in an hour. It is rather large. I'm not a STARband mom so hopefully one of them will chime in. DOC BAnds have smaller ear pieces (that's what I call the part in front of the ear. The one behind her right ear is a little on the bright side. Definitely keep an eye on that one. I wouldn't let her sleep in it tonight - which the ortho probably told you anyway - it being the first day and all. You will want to watch it closely over the weekend. I'll be in chat so we can discuss. --- In Plagiocephaly , " angembal " <angembal@y...> wrote: > Hi, > Her red marks are awful. I am having some trouble getting good pics. > I am loading them on now. Guest guest
, I forgot to mention that Colin also had some itchiness and prickly heat in the beginning (only twice). If it's OK with your ortho you may want to take the band off, put some 0.5%/1%? hydrocortisone on it, wait, and then wash it off and put the band back on. When do you go for an adjustment? I too don't like the brighter colored sore on her scalp. Colin has never had that at all. Please let us know how thing are looking. Sue Colin F. 10 mos. Guest guest
, How much experience does your ortho have? Do you know how many babies he/she has banded? --- In Plagiocephaly , " angembal " <angembal@y...> wrote: > Hi, > Her red marks are awful. Guest guest
Hi, I don't know of any, but I assumed they were experienced. She goes to NOPCO inside Boston Children's Hospital. But now I'm wondering. It looks to me like they molded the inside foam off center so it turns the helmet too much. ANgela > > Hi, > > Her red marks are awful. Guest guest
I'm sure you've already been told that these bands in the hands of inexperienced orthos can and do cause more harm than good. I think you need to ask your ortho how many babies he/she has banded. If you don't like his/her answer maybe you can ask to see a different ortho? > > > Hi, > > > Her red marks are awful. Guest guest
PS...it's really important that you keep her band off of her until it is adjusted. > > > > Hi, > > > > Her red marks are awful. Guest guest
, The band is made so as it is adjusted the head gets a more normal shape. So as she corrects the band starts to look more straight. All that being said - it should touch her ears, shift too much (not a problem here), cause lasting red marks, or be too off center. It sounds like she may need an adjustment. > > > Hi, > > > Her red marks are awful. I am having some trouble getting good > > pics. > > > I am loading them on now. Guest guest
Hello , First I wanted to welcome you to the group sinse I have not answered any of your posts yet. I think is indeed adorable. Her band does look off center, and personally I think it should be kept off till you can get them to fix it, or even replace it with one that fits. I'm sorry you are off to a bad start. The banding experience should not be like this, and it breaks my heart to keep reading these bad band fit stories. Let us know what they say when you talk to them again Sandy Willow's Mom Torticollis resolved Cranio Germany Grad --- In Plagiocephaly , " angembal " <angembal@y...> wrote: > Hi, > Her red marks are awful.
