Guest guest
Well, I have recuperated a little, but not enough! When I left today I was totally exhausted. There was so much to see and hear and learn. Let me see if I can give you a quick picture of what happened. Kay Brown announced that Melody had come down with her. Then Melody steps out from a hallway into our meeting room, dressed in her camoflage outfit, creating quite a stir among the members. She was so cute! Melody then told a little bit about our Battle of the Bulge contest, then loudly yelled " Tennnnnn hut Commando Grandma. On your feet!!!!!!!!!!! " . I quickly jumped to attention and snapped off what I considered to be a smart salute. She commanded me to come forward to receive my award. For winning the contest I was given a case decorated with camoflage on the outside, containing military " dog tags " , military watch, camoflage keyring and wrist band. Then since I am such an " exercise-phobe " she gave me a prisoner teddy bear to remind me to keep up my exercise. And then since it was a TexasTops loop contest she also gave me a Texas charm. She still doesn't know that I collect Texas shapes, so this was really nice! All of these were very nice. Oh, and since I can't go to SRD, she gave me an SRD button ahead of time. Kay Brown was telling the leaders that we need to shake things up a bit in our programs. I think it was at this point that Melody presented me my weight division top loser award. I was really flabbergasted at this one! A beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers in a really pretty vase. This woman knows how to coordinate things. The vase was clear with red hearts on it. Our meeting was theme was " Have a Heart " and the room was decorated with hearts everywhere, big hearts on the walls, little heart foil cut-outs sprinkled around on the table tops, everyone got a refrigerator magnet with a heart on it, a little card on the table also with a little poen or saying, etc. Everywhere you looked there were hearts. And then here was Melody with the heart vase! She is tooooooo much! There is so much more to write, but I just cannot think of it all right now. It is still swirling in my mind. I will probably dream about it all night. Melody and I got to talk, but not nearly enough! I hope to see her again soon. It was a very nice day. I have a new friend. Thank you for everything, Melody!
