Guest guest
Hi Jodi, I remember reading you messages about fruit sauce you make with different kind of fruits (nectarines etc.) and it sounded very yummy. Please, share the combination and amounts :)I want to expand my " fruit variety " with something already tested. Thanks Yana UC 1 year, SCD 3+ months
Guest guest
Hey Yana, I must say most of my cooking is like winging it. I rarely measure anything and I just eye it. I tend to only measure and pay attention when I am following a recipe. I used to make the fruit sauce with apples, pears, peaches, plums and or apricots and nectarines. A variation of all of these always keeping the apples in. Depending what looks nicest in the supermarket that day. Since following the low fructose guidelines I use peaches, nectarines and apricots. I might add some deseeded raspberries next time. Not sure if it's worth the work. I just used some frozen peaches in this mornings batch. I hope it will agree with me. This brand of frozen peaches is organic, peeled and the ingredients only say " organic peaches " . We shall see. So, I usually take a stock pot and throw in some butter and coconut butter and I throw in a huge amount of peeled and deseeded fruit. I add vanilla extract and sometimes some cinnamon. I put a smidge of apple cider in and just let it simmer away and I let it reduce a bit as well once I like the consistency I just take it off the burner and let it cool. It is pretty fool proof for a kitchen cook such as myself. It is DELICIOUS to mix with yogurt or DCCC. I have to mix it with one of these when I actually eat it or else I get a headache. Wasn't much of a help but I thought I'd give it a shout out anyway!! Guest guest
Hey Jodi!It was of a big help !!! It is an idea ( a lot of them) which is one of the most useful things to participate in group. Sometimes when we follow diets, rules we forgot to use our imagination and sharing hints and recipes helps tremendously. Thanks a lot!YanaUC 1 year, SCD 3+ months Re: Fruit suace...
