Guest guest
Gosh Janet, With IBM, muscle biopsies are supposed to show certain things too- something called " rimmed vacuoles " which I believe are holes in the muscle, and what are called " inclusion bodies. " Perhaps talk to the doctor about this specifically- no, not perhaps- do it. Lots of times the biopsy sample can be sent to other expert pathologists for second and even third opinions. I'd try to see that's done. But, your biopsy sample must be kept properly, of course. Let us know. Oh- most will tell you there is no known effective treatment for IBM, but a few have had limited success with some Prednisone and other things. The disease usually progresses very slowly and as a rule does not limit the lenght of your life. Jim K., who posted before, has IBM and is our expert here.
