Guest guest
I need to get majorly motivated back into exercise. My first attempt sent my hypo twice that day. but now I'm on a regular insulin regime that seems to be working better and I've walked twice for 30 minutes (last week) without a problem. This week hope to go back to what I had been doing 5 x 30 min. on elliptical machine at the gym. I know strength training is beneficial but I need to do one thing at a time I suppose (type 1.5 - lantus + humalog)
Guest guest
I go to the gym 3 x per week and do a 90 minute workout. I need to concentrate on more cardio. Now that the weather is hot I swim. I do some laps and I also hang fro below the slide and do ab crunches/leg raises. This is something I could never do out of water at this time in my life. After 3.5 years of this routine I am pretty adapted to it. However, if something comes up to displace my week, too often exercise is the thing that gets pushed aside. I have to be more disciplined; but it is hard. My head knows it is one of the most important things I do, but my schedule thinks it is one of the least important things I do. a
Guest guest
About a month ago I started walking with two friends and we walk about an hour a day, 4 times a week, we'd do it 5 times a week but always seem to get rained out at least once a week. We have no big malls here where we could walk, so on rainy days I tend to go to the biggest stores we have and walk each aisle, I figure it's better than nothing. I do the 2 or 3 mile walk about 4-5 days a week! I LOVE these videos. I also want to get the the new Firm Exercise tapes that comes with that Fanny Lifter and the 8 pound sculpting stick. Cause hey i could really enjoy having my fanny lift =) But i love the walking videos because they also add resistence training with 2 or 3 pound weights! It's helping my arms get stronger, and i used to call my arms Ham Hocks! =)
Guest guest
I walk around the block every morning with my dogs, 1 mile. It is amazing what happens once you take the dogs for a morning walk, they never let you forget. Every night, I use a total gym and exercise 15 - 20 minutes. On the weekends, I usually go for a bike ride, 4 to 10 miles. It took time to work up to the bike ride, but it has been worth it. Re: How much do you exercise ? Guest guest
woohoo Steve, I doubt I could keep up with you. But I'd try. I know the pups love it. A morning romp everday. I suspect they are up and waiting on you. I've seen the total gym and admit to lusting for such a device. When I type these things I honestly never ever thought I'd see the day I would enjoy exercise. Its sort of addicting, t2 D & E Every night, I use a total gym and exercise 15 - 20 minutes. Guest guest
My situation is a lot different from most of you. What started out as a medical necessity has turned into an obsession. I'm fortunate enough to work across from Central Park here in New York City. During my lunch break, weather permitting, with temperatures between 30°F and 100°F, I usually ride around the park two or three times / 3 - 5 times a week. Each lap is approximately 6.1 miles or rolling terrain. It's not as flat as you would think even though it's in Manhattan. Average time per lap is anywhere from 18 - 19 minutes which is not bad for a 48 year old. I started riding (in 1992) seriously to help control my sugars and improve my health. After all these years motivation is not a problem, it's the other way around. It's finding time to do more riding. One of my biggest motivations is passing all the younger riders on fancy bikes, costing three grand and up (mine cost $500 in 1991) and they're trying to keep up with me, not many can. Other motivations include Lance Armstrong of course, and wanting to be able to eat things I normally would exclude or limit from my diet. Other exercise / work include officiating basketball games during the regular basketball season and outdoor summer leagues which just started. Good luck all. Find something you like and stick with it. Exercise can be fun. > > I am curious as to everyone's exercise routines. Guest guest
Looks like you are headed in that direction Steve. There are days when I'd like to take a magic pill and not concern myself at all about diabetes. But that's in my dreams of course. There is no magic pill. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve LeBlanc I'm a type II also and trying to get to D & E instead of meds.
