Guest guest
Sharon, Funny you should ask.....we have a winter storm warning as of 3:30 pm today and we're expecting up to a foot of snow by tomorrow afternoon. It should be fun!!!!! Thank God we are not planning to go anywhere tonight or tomorrow. My husband and I (plus the 3 dogs lol) are just spending New Year's Eve. alone this year...no kids...Yeah!!!!!!! Everyone have a Happy and Safe New Year!! Hugs, :)Sharon wrote: I'm kind of embarrassed to tell you this but our forecast here in the desert is for 71 tomorrow. Actually we usually have warm weather in January but then it will turn cold again. It's been down to freezing and a little below for the past few weeks. One night it was 26 degrees. I know that's not cold to a lot of you but it was enough to freeze the tomato plants. And they were full of 2 to 3 inch green tomatoes, too. I love to watch the falling snow. It's so beautiful and cleansing, you know? When we were in Alaska we had blizzards in between the regular snow We loved it after the ground was covered with ice and snow because that's the only time we could get in and our of our property. When it's thawed it's soupy bog. LOL So we loved the winter. How's the weather everywhere else?Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Here in San Fran the weather is pretty good right now and should be clear and mild for a few more days. We should then receive the rain starting on Friday and going to Sunday. We need the rain and the Sierras need the snow. When I was in Chicago we had a nice snow on Friday. It was pleasant taking the #151 Sheridan bus through Lincoln Park and along Michigan Avenue with the falling snow. And, by Sunday morning most of the snow was gone. --Mr. Dana F. Guest guest
Yes and we are supposed to get your rain this weekend. I had forgotten about that. We really need the rain here as well. Guest guest
Sharon, I live in Michigan. Sometimes it stays on the ground but we lost most of our 8 inches of snow that we got about 2 weeks ago, then the week before that we got ice which was the system that many people in this group got but we didn't get it bad here....most of it went south of us on the border of Ohio. It should be fun....we don't get our street plowed by the county. We usually have to wait until our neighbors friend shows up to dig us out. I am feeling ok. I keep getting this pain from my armpits down to my fingers that wakes me up at night with a lot of pain that I usually have to get up to take a pain pill to go back to sleep. My hands swell so bad at night and they tingle and get numb. The last few days both my hands and wrists have stayed swollen throughout the day (normally they get better in the day) and it's hard for me to pick anything up or hang on to things. I have been dropping so many things and breaking them. I am going to see the dr. in about two weeks and tell him about what has been going on. Thanks for asking! Hugs, :)Sharon wrote: What state are you in, ? I have forgotten. A foot of snow! Guest guest
Glad to hear you are getting much needed rain. I bet you are glad to have it. Many of the southern states have just received much needed rain too. My sister just drove home from Florida yesterday and today and she said that all the lakes are sooooooooooooo low. So it's got to be really nice for the people down there to see. :)Sharon wrote: Yes and we are supposed to get your rain this weekend. I had forgotten about that. Guest guest
My kids say you are lucky ducks out there! They wrapped their minds around a 20% chance of snow last night, into wanting to believe they'd be snowed in their first day back to school since the Christmas break....afraid not for them, but fortunately for me...phew! tis a relief! Now I can begin addressing my list of 2008 goals: swimming/exercising today; reading Scripture, and looking for a job. love, Kate brocolli soup I now want to make that too Sharon! Guest guest
Kate, LOL My kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. The news is already talking about school closings on Thursday bcs they haven't plowed back roads or subdivisions yet. Too much snow for the counties to handle in one day. There were also power outages but our power managed to stay on which is strange bcs if the wind blows in the right direction, the power goes out. Our power will go out on a sunny, very nice day. So we are lucky in that respect. Yes I can understand why you didn't want to deal with any snow. I love it unless I have to drive in it. Sorry for your kids though. I best they were getting excited. Nice list of goals for 2008. It's good that you write them down and try to keep those goals. I was never one to have resolutions. People ask me why and I think that if I make goals for myself for a new year and don't achieve them then I am a failure so I have not once made a resolution. I do have things I want to accomplish but that's really on a daily basis. I can't plan tomorrow, don't know how I will feel day to day. Good luck with your goals. I hope you achieve all of them. Hugs, :)Kate Rothschild wrote: My kids say you are lucky ducks out there! Guest guest
Speaking of weather, the forecast is for some big rains and winds to come through the Bay Area starting on Thursday. The prediction is 2" of rain around here. And, in the Sierras it should be several feet of snow, something that is much needed up there. Heaviest rain should be Friday. I hope it lets up enough for my Ukraine event on Saturday! --Mr. Dana F. Utz utzdana@... https://home.comcast.net/~utzdana/
Guest guest
Dana, much as I wish you the best for your Ukraine Event, we desperately need that rain; at the rate we have been going for the last three to four years, we are headed toward water rationing. This state is emerging from its longest-lasting drought in roughly 50 years! I guess, when I am not complaining about MS, I can complain about the drought, fires, etc. You have a good event on Saturday, no matter what, Dana! love to you all, n, waaaaay out in Oakland across the S.F. Bay from Dana! > > > > > Speaking of weather, the forecast is for some big rains and winds to come > through the Bay Area starting on Thursday. The prediction is 2 " of rain > around here.
