Guest guest
Hello all, Well, I just found out that Hanger has a facility where I'm located..and I'm curious about the type of helmet they offer. For those of you that have/had lil ones in this type, can you fill me in? I need Jax in an active band due to his age (going to be 1 very soon). I'd rather go to another place CLOSE to me rather than drive 2-6 hours... Thanks Kim
Guest guest
OUr Colin is in a Hanger band/helmet(I am not sure I know the difference if there is one between helmet and band). It said Cranial band on the warrantee I signed. You can view it under Colin W photos. I am not sure if my guy has modified it from its original desig or if they all do this, but he cut away a section of foam over the post flat area, and said this is a protocol from Dr. in Boston Children's Hosp. Thus, it is not total contact and I believe it has given us some fit issues. But it is correction, as you can see in the pictures. Colin is also comfortable in it. Things can vary by the individual fitting it as well. We were scanned, not casred which was great. There is another mom here that I am in touch with off the board. I will email her and see if she can tell you about hers as well. I think she is very pleased with her son's. My Colin is now almost 6 months old(in a week). The prognosis was 2-4 months of banding. We are one month down. Let me know if I can tell you anything else. mish > Hello all, > Well, I just found out that Hanger has a facility where I'm > located..and I'm curious about the type of helmet they offer. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Hanger has their own Hanger Cranial Band, though some Hanger facilities use STARbands. Sounds like it could be a good option for you! , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > Hello all, > Well, I just found out that Hanger has a facility where I'm > located..and I'm curious about the type of helmet they offer. Guest guest
I think it may depend on the Hanger facility. I think some offer the Starband, while others offer the Hanger Cranial Band. Both are active bands from what I understand. Guest guest
We used Hanger in Missouri but they used the STARband. We had a wonderful and experienced ortho.
