Guest guest
Carolyn, I don't know all the rules to the site but is it possible to share the name of the school that was so helpful for your dtr? This would be helpful to SOOO many. Even to contact this school for other recommendations. Congrats on your dtr. doing so well!!!! My opinion but, I would think that a program specifically for BPD would be the FIRST start. Programs and schools are so expensive to waste money and time and know already that it's not designed for the specific help needed. A friend's dtr. attended a wonderful loving and structured Christain home on Tx. She did very well while there. On the three day trip home she started to deteriorate and within weeks had lost all ground. It was a great environment (no different from the Christian loving parents and home she had) but wasn't specific for BPD and working on the long term needs. They were successful on outside behavoir but not aware of the changes on the inside needed for BPD. My dtr. with BPD was just chosen as a " soldier of the week " in National Guard boot camp which is GREAT and a wonderful accomplishment for her since not on meds!!! I'm VERY Proud of her and for her. BUT also am aware that she's been pulling immature stunts while there with calling slimy friends and still telling " stories " . Again, behavior CAN be made to be controlled but what's going on on the inside where the greatest change will have to be from. Mel
