When your numbers are used to being higher what looks like a " normal " reading for some can cause the feeling of hypoglycemia in others! When i first started getting my numbers lower i was feeling hypo at that reading as well! But my body has adjusted to my lower levels and 90 130 feels fine for me! If i run high for a day or two i might be sensitive to such readings for a day!! When you feel dizzy and panicky like that have a little juice and if possible snack on a piece of wheat bread! Guest guest
Just trust me Jodee, as you continue to have your numbers get lower and lower you wont feel hypo at 111 anymore! Your body is adjusting, and when you stabilize in that range you'll feel great! And you are doing such an excellent job at the weight loss! I am proud of you as i'm sure we all are! Guest guest
Jodee - that is EXACTLY what happened. About my third day into using insulin I was finally falling below 200. One night after dinner I felt like that and tested a 134. That was the lowest I'd seen and I panicked. I ate something to make myself feel better. I then spoke to my doctor and she said " you didn't eat did you? " Ha ha. She said just ride it out and you're body will adjust. Guest guest
<< wow I can't imagine it going to 54! yikes. >> I woke up froma deep sleep at 52 once in the first week - sweaty and heart pounding. It was scary. Yesterday I had my lowest low - 49 - and I barely noticed it. That's scary - you'ld think I would be feeling it a lot more. Luckily I know my body to know when it's happening. I've started to have some right side face numbness when I'm going low so that's one sign I have. I also start to get overheated which will be followed by chills once I bring mysugar back up. What a fun ride this is!!!! Kimba (kimberly)

Guest guest
Thanks , I didn't know before talking to everyone on my diabetes lists that you could feel that way with a reading over 100, I know now. jodee Re: BG falling to fast? > In a message dated 6/13/2003 5:15:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, > jodee@... writes: > > > I woke up last night shortly after I went to bed, (woke up about 12:35am) > > feeling kind of panicky and dizzy. Guest guest
Thanks , Oddly enough my before breakfast reading is high! 189, I wonder what the heck happened. I did not eat when it was 11 at 12:35 am. I don't understand these numbers sometimes. I have no idea why it has spiked this morning. Guest guest
is right, The first time I dropped below 100, I was very dizzy. I attributed it to a hot day and working on my boat. When I told the doctor, all he said was that I wasn't use to having my blood sugar in the normal range. Since I have pretty much stabilized, I have no problems. The last time I felt hupo, I was at 54. Re: BG falling to fast? Just trust me Jodee, as you continue to have your numbers get lower and lower you wont feel hypo at 111 anymore! Guest guest
The lowest I've been is 42. That was the first time I went hypo. I saw a spot in front of my eyes, started shaking and sweating. I drank some orange juice and had a hard boil egg, waited 15 minutes, did not see much of an increase so I ate some carbs. The rest of the was was pretty much a roller coaster. 71 then 90 then 155 back down to 120. The next morning, I was back to normal. When I dropped to 54, I was talking to someone on the phone. I drank 1/2 can of root beer and it got me back on track. The first experience was a panic, the second and third was, oh not again. What's odd, when my levels do drop, lets say from 117 in the morning to 80, I still get a little dizzy. But your doing great, your heading the same way I did. Don't get discourage when it plateaus, both your weight and sugar level will start dropping again. What's nice, and this is from a guy folks, is when you put on a pair of pants and they fall because you did not put on a belt. What hurts, for a guy, is having to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe and having to take your suits in to be tailored Re: BG falling to fast? wow I can't imagine it going to 54! yikes. Guest guest
Yea I didn't eat I just went back to bed. I knew it had to be adjusting and I knew that 111 was defnitely not to low so I just calmed myself down and went back to bed. Jodee Re: BG falling to fast? > Jodee - that is EXACTLY what happened.
