Guest guest
Sandy you are not a whiner. Each case is different. I had some tests before my surgery but not as many as you. It sounds as though the dr is checking everything out before surgery and deciding which chemo to put you on. I will keep you in my prayers. I have been going thru continual tests, bone scan, cat scan, mugs scan, x-rays, blood work, I have to go to the hospital now to get the CAT scan, because of some allergic reaction I had to something years ago. so now I will not see the Dr. again until the 15th, they said that the cancer has spread to my bone, I have had severe rib and spine pain since Jan., My question is, shouldn't something be done, They are only treating me for the pain, vertebrea and rib fractures, do they just think that the breast cancer ( invasive lobular carcinoma) will wait until later? is this normal procedure? never been thru this before and being a single mom of a disabled daughter, I am finding it a bit overwhelming, I guess just the not knowing, I am having so much trouble getting to the test , because of the pain, I guess i am just becoming frustrated and scared, it seems, that everyone else gets immediate surgery and attention, and I am thinking maybe it has already gone to far, so they ust take there time, geez............I feel like such a whiner!!!!!!! any suggestions or help understanding would be greatly appriciated, thanks,Sandy D

Guest guest
I have not read the reply from some of the others but if it were me in t his situation, I would ask/demand an answer to the questions you have posted here and I think I would be getting a second opinion and possibly a new doctor. When I was diagnosed, my surgeon told me that I could wait to make a decision as to what procedure I wanted to have but waiting gives the cancer a chance to spread its ugly self to more of my body. He recommended my decision be made within a couple of days and that is what I did. I believe what he said is correct and waiting is not going to benefit you. However, I may not know something that your doctor knows...but he should tell you. Get someone to go to the next appointment so they can hear what he is saying, take a list of questions with you and don't leave until you get an answer. You and his other patientsare paying for his vacations, his big house and all the goodies he has managed to buy. He should give you answers. If not , fire him and get another. Guest guest
There are treatments and operations available for you. Keep fighting even if the cancer has spread to your bones. Go to as many doctors as you can and most of all be your own doctor. I know it is a hard thing to do. If you need any help please let me know.
