I heard in California it was somewhere between $20-30,000 per year, on top of what the district collects from property taxes, etc. per child! Is it the same in each state? I think it would be helpful to have these figures when we are " negotiating " with the school districts to make the special accommodations for our children. And Kudos to for getting the acoustic panels!! Thanks in advance for any info or pointing me in the direction of a website to research. Guest guest
That is interesting. I know the schools get an amount, called " weighting " , for a child with an IEP (Individulaized Educational Program), and, for instance, since our child is deaf, her weighting is the most it can be, which is 3.75. That means whatever the state pays for a student to attend public school, our daughter gets 3.75 times that amount. But that doesn't figure anywhere near 20,000-30,000 dollars. I think our state's per student is somewhere around $4000. Do you have anymore info on that? Or anywhere we can go to see if this is really a fact? Thanks in advance.
