Hi

I want to say that most kids are ok with 1 band, including my

daughter Willow, but in some cases when docs, and / or parents are

not happy with the outcome, and more correction can be expected from

a second band then they opt to do this. How severe is Milan's

plagio? What type of a band is he getting?

Hair growth can be affected by the band, but will regrow once they

are done with tx. In my daughter's case it wasn't affected at all.

I hope I could answer some of the questions. I am sure more members

will join in, and answer your questions.

Thanks for such a quick reply!

I am not too sure how severe his Plagio in comparasion to

others...but the back of his head is completely flat and the back

left side also has a flat spot. His forehead has started to

have " fullness " from that spot on left side. If you look from the top

it almost looks like a D, very full on front/sides.

He started his CranioCap last week.

His issue is purely " cosmetic " , but all the peds we go to said it was

pretty significant.

If you get a 2nd cap, do you get a different brand for different

results?

What kind of cap did your daughter have?

We are in Germany due to my husband being military. Willow had a

Local helmet developed by Dr. Blecher here in Germany, which is also

the only tx option in Germany. His band/helmet is also passive like

the CranioCap that you are using. At your son's age a passive helmet

is just as affective as an active band.(STARband, and DOCband are

active bands). If you have some time browse through the Files /

Links / Database section. It has tons of information on all sorts of

bands/helmets. A passive helmet works by only relying on growth, and

redirects it. The active band does the same, but also applies gentle

pressure to the skull. My daughter was banded at 6months, and we saw

some very good correction. You can look at her before and after

pictures in Willow under local bands before and after.

If you can post some pictures of Milan in his CranioCap. We love

looking at new baby pictures around here.
