I make goat's milk yogurt, and I do make it into cheese. However, I never ate goat's milk cheese before SCD, so I can't really compare the stuff I make to what you've probably eaten. The goat's milk cheese I make tastes a lot like cream cheese.

Ann

Can anyone tell me about goats milk yogurt, I have never made it but used to love goat cheese before scd and lactose intolerance. Has anyone ever made goat yogurt? and then made it into goat cheese?

Thanks

Suzanne,

I make both cow and goat yogurt. Dripped or drained of either is much

less tart. If you're lucky enough to get fresh goats milk, not

store-bought, it will be much less tart than yogurt made with

store-bought goat milk.

I like the change of taste having the different milks makes.

Yes variety does help! Thanks I just bought some goat milk today to try it... but just did not know what to expect.I wish I had access to fresh but I do not. I am aiming to make goat cheese from it as well.

Thanks,

No, it's not legal, as it contains lactose, which is a sugar. It hasto be made into yogurt, which is lactose free.MaraGood question. No. Without the 24 hour fermentation into yogurt, even goat's milk still

has lactose.
