Guest guest
Seems like there are a lot of great parents on this board who have really become advocates for their kids. I just signed the petition, and it made me think-- When did you first hear the word Plagiocephaly? Who first pointed out that there was a problem with your childs head- shape? Once you knew something was wrong, who initiated the journey to treat your child? In other words, did you have to ASK your pediatrician for a referral, or did they suggest you needed to see a specialist?
Guest guest
I heard about Plagiocephaly back in 1998 when someone's baby in my playgroup wore a helmet. I'm the one who first pointed out the problem with 's head. My ped offered a referral to the ped neuro when he was 13 weeks but I opted to wait to repo until he was 4 months. However, my ped also said he did NOT have tort, he was finally diagnosed with the tort by the ped neuro we saw. Guest guest
On the torticollis board. Many parent of tort babies had tort/plagio when they signed their names. Since my neighbor pointed out Angelina's flat spot I stared reading more about plagio in relation to tort (really I just read every message and got educated) I started signing my name with Angelina tort and plagio??? I soon realised that she did indeed have it and the next part of our journey began. Now she has just been casted for her local helmet at 8.75 mos. and Angelina 8.75 mos with tort and plagio (for sure) in B.C.
