Hi Deb,

He needs to contact Medicaid about his prescriptions. If he is financially strapped he might qualify for the Medically Needy program.

What about Legal Aid?

Hi,

I had a very bad day on Tuesday. I broke another crown off at the gum line chewing a piece of bread. So off to the dentist where it was a horrible extraction, the Novocain never killing the nerve to the next tooth so felt sharp pain through the whole thing.

Then I come home to even worse!

I came home to discover that the neighbors pit bulls had somehow gotten my poor Donna, a miniature Grey Hound, out of the yard and slaughtered her. Both Greig and I and all of the dogs are devastated. The hole that this has created in our household is too large to ever be filled. All of you that had the pleasure to know her know that she was the gentlest of dogs and one of the most loving. She was laid to rest with the feather pillow from my childhood as she would never lay down on just a bed but always under the covers or on top of a pillow.I do not blame those dogs as much as their owners. For sheer laziness, not to close their gate, we have lost her. I am going to try and let animal control handle this but the neighbors have decided to lie about their dogs, doesn't matter. The attack against Ginger and Annie from last December count against them still so they will lose their dogs. I am told we have the right to destroy them if they come on our property again but I still don't think I am capable of that. I can however hold them for animal control. Official channels churn slowly and they are doing everything by mail so I don't expect the dogs will be removed right away. However their laziness will cause them to leave the gate open again and the dogs will run down the street, again. This time all neighbors will be aware and ready. Of course I would rather this punishment be against the humans but that is not allowed. Do I sound bitter, I'll bet and I am. I have a kernel of hate in my heart right now that is trying to grow greater than my grief.I am being brutally honest to you as I know most of you think of your dogs as more than just animals but family and would feel the same. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know. Greig says I can't blame myself and I guess I know but if it wasn't for the RSD I wouldn't have lost the tooth and then I would have been home and Donna would be alive! Felice

Felice,

I am so sorry to hear of your lose. I am an animal lover too, but it makes me concerned that these dogs run lose and

they might get a child someday, or adult for that matter.

I agree that the neighbors should be held accountable, when they don't keep their animals properly secure. I sure hope that in the mean time that the dogs don't injure or kill anyone.

Again, I'm sorry for your lose, because our pets are family.

Love,
