Guest guest
Hi , I just wanted to say that I am so sorry to hear what you expereinced the other day. I'm also sorry to hear that there is a little bulge that has formed. I'm glad that they listened to you and adjusted it. I'm no expert but perhaps the bulge will smooth out as your son grows and/or hair will definitely cover it. IMHO the overall shape of his head is more important than little imperfections but I totally understand your concerns over your ds's cute little noggin. I'd probably be exactly the same way. If you are happy with your ds's head shape now or in a few weeks it is totally up to you & your dh if you want to discontinue treatment. I'm sure he will continue to get improvement with his growth. I hope that I have not upset you in any way with anything that I have said. I just want you to know that we are hear to listen! Guest guest
Hi , Sorry you are so frustrated right now. It is common for babies to get a little bulge where the velcro side/opening is. Our ortho described it to us as a fluid or soft tissue build up that would go away after graduation. Hannah had 4 mos between band #2 and #3 and it did go down, but now that she's been back in a band it's back. I have no idea if this is what you are describing. I'm having trouble visualizing what you are trying to describe w/out pictures! You said his head was starting to take on the shape of the band, but the band is made to a corrected (round) version of his head, so this would be a good thing overall and thats why I'm not understanding how it looks like it's squaring his head. LOL! Did I confuse you yet? I think you should try and get some pics uploaded and maybe email them to Cranial Tech's corporate office if you're really concerned it's making his head worse. They certainly back their product and would want to know and would definitely help you come to a point where you were comfortable w/whats going on. Please keep us posted. , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > Hi Cristina & welcome to our group: > How old is Nicky? Guest guest
Cristina, My ds, Kody, has a buldge coming out the gap of the band, too. I just called CT 2 days ago about it. I got the same answer everyone is repeating. It is soft tissue, even though it feels hard, that will go away after treatment. My friend took her son in for the next day, and her therapist showed her the buldge in his head and told her the same thing. They both said that there is no hard bone that can form in that area, or something weird like that. I hope they are right! I am sure they are, or more people would complain about it. Good luck. I hate to see you go through all this trouble and not get results! Melany, Kody's Mommy, 18 mons, Plagio, tort DOCband 6/02 Texas > Hi Cristina & welcome to our group: > How old is Nicky?
