Guest guest
Well, I can't say which is best, but we went to a ped. plastic surgeon and haven't really had any problems with him. They took care of things with our insurance. Connor (6mo. - tort/plagio) casting tomorrow!! St. Louis, Mo. > Thanks to all who responded to my questions a few days ago. Guest guest
From my experience and a friends... I went to a craniofacial neurosurgeon who told me that " other kids in her class would look worse than her " He also told me actual lies about banding when I asked him about it as an option - a friend went to a pediatric neurosurgeon and she told her that her daughters head would never look normal (both doctors were from Children's Hospital). I decided not to listen to him and went to CT for an evaluation. My daughter was banded 5 weeks ago at 9 1/2 months of age. So... I guess that the lesson here is that if the answer you get doesn't seem right to you, pursue other avenues. > Thanks to all who responded to my questions a few days ago. Guest guest
Hello Mandy We also saw a craniofacial surgeon. I think Neuros don't like banding too much. Good luck and keep us updated Sandy Willow's Mom tort resolved 04/04 /CranioGermany Grad02/04 / mild lowtone > Thanks to all who responded to my questions a few days ago. Guest guest
Hi Mandy, I saw two, a neurosurgeon and a neurologist. I would lean more towards a neurosurgeon or a craniofacial if I were you. Neurologists deal with some really severe problems so to many of them, plagio is just not a big deal. Just my experience, Natasha > Thanks to all who responded to my questions a few days ago. Guest guest
I woudn't think a neurologist would be a good choice for plagio, but the other two should be fine. See if you can find anyone who saw them for plagio to know if they are even probanding or not. Some docs are just plain against banding, even in the most severe cases. I think neurosurgeons tend to be a little less apt to write scripts for mild/mod cases as they are less concerned w/appearance than they are possible side effects from the plagio.
