Guest guest
> I'm not sure how to approach this subject because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings... but I need to be honest with the group about something. I love reading all the wonderful recipes that have been posted on here but it is really having an effect on me and not a good one. It seems like the more I read about food, the more I want to go cook that recipe and eat. An occasional recipe is nice but lately it seems like there have been so many, and most of higher carb than I can eat without having my bgs go up significantly. So I wanted to ask if we could keep the recipes at a minimum that are posted. I don't know if it affects other people, but it sure does me. I've been trying to figure out how to mention it without hurting any feelings because I know that some people can eat these recipes and do fine. > > Thanks for listening. > > Shirley Hi Shirley, I am sorry if I have caused a problem. I figured as the recipes come from the groups for diabetics they would be useful. Apparently not. I will refrain from sending them. Again, I appologize, I was just trying to help ;-) Marilyn
Guest guest
I skim through the recipes but not being a " cook " thats as far as it gets but would like my hubby to try them when he has time. Vy which time I cant find then as I read on digest. Could we have a recipe section then those who want to read can and those that find them too tempting can skip them. hope this helps us all. ps would love to see all the recipes so far moved over to one section too. Guest guest
> I'm not sure how to approach this subject because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings... Perhaps the recipes can go into the files section so that we can create an online " Recipe Book " . If we made a couple of folders, one for low-carb, one for med-carb, one for how to modify regular high- carb dishes to lower carb...that way anyone can read them whenever they want. I won't use them a lot - but sometimes I would love to be able to take a look at some recipes if I am cooking a special meal on the weekend. I think that you asked this in a very nice way, and your attention to the feelings of those people who post recipes shows that you really do care about them not being hurt by this. I really do hope that no one takes this the wrong way or thinks that we don't want the recipes. ~ Jayd

I understand the position of seeing recipes makes you think about food. I do recipes, and keep myself busy, thus don't head to the kitchen. I cannot afford to gain, I need to lose more. I have asked for guidelines in recipes and was told they could accept or delete any recipe that is not for " them " . I do not wish to cause strife, in any area. I feel kind of cornered. Darned if I do, useless if I don't. Are the diabetic recipes unacceptable? I realize carbs are a problem. I really need set guidelines if I am to contribute. I don't wish to feel bad or make someone else upset. Any suggestions? I like the idea of a recipe section. Marilyn

I look forward to reading what you post, regardless of whether it's a recipe. You are a welcome resource! > > Pansy Hi Pansy, Thank you for your words of encouragement. I really try to be upbeat and positive about life. My life is very full with such a large family and circle of friends, loopy and otherwise! The loops are special to me because they fill a need. A need to be useful to others who are walking in the same foot prints I am. Si, I'll keep trying! Hugs, have a special day. Marilyn
