Guest guest
A girdle and a nurse's uniform?? Oh my, Santa must've been in a foul mood. Ugh. I think you win! LOL I love the stories of your trees and decoration, Lynn!! ) Now, stop trying to catch that cold. Let it run away. Hugs & Prayers, Challis Bits and pieces First Welcome Home Kate. The survey: For some reason I cannot do that right now but I do want to answer one My worst Christmas gift was the year before I turned 17 still in high school. I received a nurse's uniform and a girdle. That was it, all of it. I did not know that Santa could be so mean. One year for out Christmas tree I put one nail at about 4 inches from the ceiling and several on the base board and ran lights up and down and around them. That year it was just the twins and me there. There were a few gifts and lights and lots of fun. Then one year I was alone I cut and colored two trees out of cardboard and cut notches so that the tree was three dimensional and punched hole to hang decorations on it. And of course when the kids were at home we always made decorations. I think it was the last Christmas that all the kids were home that we had the most beautiful tree. I went to the tree lot on Christmas eve and got one for less than half price. It was short but sooooooooo full. We loaded it with lights and decorated it with just enough decorations that it turned out great. My date tonight was canceled due to weather. This was probably good as I have been trying not to come down with this cold that is trying to grab me. We did have a long visit on yahoo messenger today though. Oh yes. Reb, you brought back some good memories of my childhood Christmases. When you said that you alternate where you go for Christmas, I thought about telling you then about what we did. We went to Dad's family on Christmas Eve and then Mom's family for Christmas dinner. Has anyone heard from Val lately? Guest guest
Oh Lynn! That's so funny that Santa brought you a nurse's uniform and a girdle. He WAS mean, wasn't he? The next time you saw Santa did you kick him in the shins? I remember some pretty sparse Christmases when my kids were little. I was able to buy the ugly tree on the lot for $5 several years then a old neighbor lady gave me an artificial tree and we used that for years. Each year I would host several toy parties (remember those?) and as a result would get free toys for the kids. I also was not above shopping at the thrift store and picking up new items there that have been donated. We made decorations and made goodies and had a good time I think. Every evening I would light the Christmas candles and we would turn off the lights to enjoy the candle light and the Christmas tree lights. I would also take the kids several times to drive around and look at Christmas lights and decorations. We would ooh and aww over the lights. lolThat's what Challis is doing today. I called and her 7 y/o daughter answered and told me they were all busy making goodies. Then I talked the her 4 y/o daughter and she told me she was "helping Mom bake". That's what memories are made of, huh? Take care of yourself Lynn and don't get a cold for Christmas!love to allSharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Ya know, I hadn't thought of the candle lighting and tree watching until you mentioned it. It just made me smile. No wonder I love candles. Must be something deep in my brain that I didn't even remember, huh? I loved that! Well, except maybe the Santa or Snowman candle with the creeky floating eyes. Guest guest
Hi Lynn~ I'm back now. Was finally able to get back on line a couple of days ago. I've moved, as you may have heard by now. Just starting to get setteled in a bit. I've got so many things that I need to get done before Christmas. I don't remmeber if you ever gave me your last name, but I would sure appreciate it if I could have it. You don't have to give it to me through the group if you don't wish, just send it to me privately if you prefere. I have a little something for you, and I'd like to send it to you. I hope all is working out with that new "friend" of yours. You know I only wish you well. May God bless you... Val happybutterflies@... wrote: First Welcome Home Kate.
