Do you have diuretics you can take to help whit the BP?

No I don't think I do. You feel this would be a good interim measure?

Can you recommend anything?

thanks.

I take Dyazide when I need something and I never let fluid build up too

much as it not only raises blood pressure but it also causes tissue damage.

I would have to go to the Gp to get that and theywill start shouting at me

again to get me back on BP meds. which I want to avoid. have tried 3 different

ones already and the sides were awful.

Maybe I will go to the health food shop and see if they have anything they

can suggest.

thanks.

Mo, do you take fish oil? A man came into the store (I work in a hfs), and

said he took fish oil, and within 3 months his bp dropped A LOT. That won't

help in the short run, but it might in the long run.

Have you ever had your cortisol tested? Do you think it could be high

instead of low? Sometimes the symptoms can mimic each other.

Hi Olif

I do take fish oils every day olif - 3 grams.

My cortisol tested low but because I have been on 35 mg h.c I am guessing

that I have high cortisol at the moment.

Cut it back by 2 1/2 recently and will cut it again in a couple of days and

hope this will bring improvement.

Val if you are reading this - dop you know how low I would need to go with

the h.c before I could reasonably expect to see a lowered Bp in response?

When you are no longer reachign a high cortiosl level.

Which would be determined by ? lowering of the BP?

So just keep lowering 2 1/.2 every week until the BP lowersw?

YES BUT watch for symptoms of low adrenal function. Your body is used to

this much cortiosl and oyu may need to taper down even slower to avoid

problems.

What would I be looking for Val?

I am VRY hypo at the moment so exhausted, severe brain fog.

Thanks.

Your change of 1/4 grian should not cause this much difference in your

hypo symptoms. There is something we are missing in this picture. I sure

wish I could help you figure it out

I went as high as 4 1/4 grains Val, dropped to 4 after a week, then when

that did not help the palps, I lowered from 4 to 3 for a few days.

When that did not help I dropped Armour completely for one day (that was

yesterday) and today I am on 3 3/4 grains.

Ihave been in a bad way since i increased to 4 1/4 on 17th Februay, around

that time anyway BUT I have never been anything other than hypo, apart from the

odd few hours, since I started on Armour two years ago!

When you are no longer reachign a high cortiosl level. It is very individual and

CHANGES as your adrenla output changes. MIne has changed recently.. Probably

wiht my thyroid med changed but I am not able to lower HC right now due to the

extra stress I am adding by chenging thyroid meds so I am on Dyazide to

compensate until I can lower the HC in a couple more weeks.
