Hi,

I am very new to this group & have a lot to catch up on. Does anyone have

stories of a child diagnosed with Fragile X and autism recovering? We had

autism dx at 20 mo, then at 27 mo Fragile X. My son just turned 3 yrs and has

brother with Fragile X 6 mo. I had my oldest on SCD and tried some bio medical

approaches, but after pregnancy and second child, I have to say other than GFCF

diet, I have done little more DAN protocol. I guess I am at a place where I am

not sure that these approaches will work; but I do believe my son is sick in his

gut. We did SCD for 5/6 mo, but I was too hungry and tired when pregnant to

follow through and can't imagine going back. I'd love some feedback to get me

back on track and some hope for recovery. My son still is not talking, and has

a few words which come out on rare ocassion and he can be quite aggressive when

angry with me. He's adorable and loving, but does continue to get rashes on

body at times. I've not done any food logs. Oh, and I get no support (I think

mostly compliance) from in-laws when they watch him when I am working (32 hours

a week).

We did see a DAN nurse practtioner for awhile and he responded well to Nystatin.

Methyl B-12 shots saw some improvements, but then it seemed to regress when

shots were given (never figured that one out...and ran out of shots). As you

can tell I am an overtired, not organized and overwhelmed mom.
