OMG Krissy!!!! So this has probably happened to other baby's bands

as well for a MONTH??????? Ugh, I'll bite my tongue while shaking

my head & rolling my eyes.

How long ago was casted though? If it's been a more than 2

wks, I'd STRONGLY encourage you getting a re-cast. I know it's

nothing you want to do, but baby's heads are growing & changing so

much, that even an extra wk between casting & fitting could really

make a huge difference.

Thank you sooooo much for this information. My husband will be calling

the Orthotist tomorrow. We are extremely upset. By the time get

casted and refitted it may be up to 3 more weeks!!!!! He will be 7 1/2

months.

My son is so sweet and seems back to his happy self without the band. I

have prayed before all of this, and I feel because we are having such a

hard time with this, could it be answered prayer to not go on doing

this? It is really hard when you don't hear God's literal voice.

Thank you again for your support,

Krissy

Hi Lori-

I am devastated. Joe will be calling Cary tomorrow. I don't know how

this is all going to work out. I hope my husband doesn't lose it too

much. I would drive over to Orlando to Orthomerica to speed up this

process. But as I said to Debbie, could this whole situation be an

answer to my prayer to pull back from this path? It just seems like it

is a force against nature. I am past emotional and need a clear answer.

I hate being in this position.

If needs to be recasted, which that seems to be the only thing to

do, he will be into 7 1/2 months when he would receive the band. Would

this refitting help? Would this problem with Ortho/Kast happen again?

Do I want to go through this casting again and have whimpering

again in fear- plus he is so happy since the helmet has been off? You

are right- I am freaking out!!! I hate this part of being a parent.

I value your opinion, if this happened to you and Christian in the

beginning would you still do this? Remember in the beginning- you

didn't see the results yet and you questioned yourself when everything

went pretty smoothly. But add Dr. Carey saying she wouldn't do the

helmet (meaning ) because he didn't have the Torticolis and

Asymmetry. If you don't want to answer, I will understand. I know it

is really up to me and my husband. But, it helps to get other opinions.

BTW- Joe and I are planning on seeing Dr. McCormick (spelling of name I

think is right). He saw in the hospital and on his 7 day check

up. We really liked him. Oh well, if Dr. Goldstein feels weird - we

feel we will get the right treatment by seeing him and we won't have

to go too far away from home.

Talk to you soon,

Krissy

Krissy,

I'm not able to get on the boards that often, but, I had to reply to your posts. I'm so, so sorry that you're having to go thru all of this. It is very hard having to deal with the long wait for casting, going thru the casting, only to find that the process needs to be started all over again.

I know you're worried that your son will be 7 1/2 mo old before the new helmet comes in. My son was banded at 11 mo & we've already seen great improvement. There was even a bulging on one side of the forehead (that I didn't even notice) that has improved.

We also prayed about what to do & your right, it's hard to know what to do when it doesn't seem like you get a clear cut answer.

I know I haven't helped with advice, I just wanted to let you know we'll be thinking of you & .
