Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear about . Our cat is like one of our children, I would be so sad if she were sick... I hope you get some good information when you seek your second opinion. {{{HUGS}}}

Guest guest
maria, Sounds like the vet was being very defensive. He knows he screwed up! I hope isn't in too much pain and I'll be praying for him! Dallas says, " WOOF! " to elle > Hi Everyone, > I am really upset. I just got back from the vet's. I had to take my very cute little to have an ultrasound and EKG of his heart. Apparently, he has a dental infection that caused bacteria to spread to the heart and resulted in 2 heart murmurs (one on each side), and has asmathic like symptoms. What really gets me is that the vet was so argumentive when I requested the X-rays and file to take to a specialist next week. His comment was " why do you need to go anywhere, I brought the specialist to you. " > > I told him that " if was a person you would get a second opinion. To me, there's no difference between my dog and my child. " I don't know if he really doesn't get it, or he's just being defensive. Everything in me says he's being defensive because HE should have picked up the dental problem, instead he kept telling me that I'm not cleaning the dog's teeth properly - it's impossible, a normal person cannot clean tartar off a dog's teeth, they have to be knocked out and the tooth scraped below the gum line!!!!! > > Then I had the cardiologist speak to (thought I would be too emotional to remember what she said); when she suggested having the dog's teeth cleaned, and that they should be done every 3 months, our vet became even more defensive. > > Now, I'm just upset and angry. Our dogs are part of our family, especially because he was the first. It just seems so unfair that an innocent animal is permanently injured, and can his life shortened, because someone messed up! I can just imagine if this were my child, I'd really be freaking out!!!!! > maria
Guest guest
, hey, Mitral valve prolapse is when the heart doesnt close everytime it beats and it sometimes causes extra beats and all. but the thing i was getting to is............ if you have mitral valve prolapse and any dental problems or cleaning or anything to do with your teeth, you have to have antibotics or it can set up endocarditis in your heart and it is very dangerous. It is a type of severe bacteria. I didnt know if he had that or not. i wish joey the best of luck crystal
