Guest guest
WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE MY JOB IN ORDER TO CONTROL MY DIABETES BETTER why? is it very high stress or what? wht is your job? ALSO MY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO CUT DOWN TO 900 CALORIES A DAY.. what do you weigh, how tall are you? 900 calories is too few for anyone, in my greedy opinion IM STRUGGLING WITH CARB COUNTING At the workshop I went to they said that consider 15 carbs one slice of bread, then figure how many slices you are eating. I try to restrict myself to two slices (figuratively) at each meal IM ALSO FEELING DEPRESSED IS THIS NORMAL FOR DIABETICS TO GET THIS WAY???? I consider that normal for anyone, diabetic or not Sandy
Guest guest
>HAVE TO CHANGE MY JOB IN ORDER TO CONTROL that is the standard answer for someone who is out of control by someone who has a secure job that doesn't affect their health. My DH is an injection moldmaker by trade and he was told the same thing. He is 59 and that is the only thing he has done for 35 years. Work schedules are the same everywhere he goes. Employers are not going to make adjustments to accommodate your diabetes. Rather than telling you to change your job the educators should be helping the diabetic to adjust your routine to your work schedule. Personaly i'm looking for something else, i'm currently working as a cashier at a local grocery store and standing on my feet for 5-8 hours a day just isn't working for me. I'm having low blood sugar attacks almost daily while working, my feet are killing me, and the metformin is still giving me diarrhea and it isn't easy walking away from a register to go! I'm planning on talking to the manager tomorrow to see if i can possible work in the office where i will be sitting balancing tills, much easier on my body! Hope things work out for you
