My vacation nearly killed me... of course, that had to do with the friend from hell who drank and hung all over every man. I just was wondering about the traveling too. I'm sorry. Here is an abbreviated version of our vacation schedule from last week: Friday, June 3rd - Drove 4.5 hours from my house to boyfriend's house, this was after work Friday. Saturday, June 4th - Drove 12 hours from boyfriends house in Louisiana to Orlando, Florida. Sunday, June 5th - spent the day at Universal Studios. Spent the evening cooking seafood with some friends in Orlando. Monday, June 6th - spent the day at Islands of Adventure in Universal. Spent the evening going to a dinner/theatre show. It was an Al Capone Show. Resturant was a 1920's speak-eazy with complete floor show of songs, comedy, etc. LOTS of fun! Tuesday, June 7th - Slept in late, went swimming at hotel. Met some friends for dinner. Wednesday, June 8th - 9.5 hour drive from Orlando, FL to New Orleans. LA. Went to dinner and then went swimming in the pool. Thursday, June 9th - Walked all over New Orleans French Quarter. Went shopping at the French Market, Went to dinner at Margaritaville, went down Bourbon Street couple of times that night, listened to blues/jazz bands and had margaritas. Friday, June 10th - Drove 2.5 hours from New Orleans to boyfriends house. Spent the afternoon napping and playing in his pool. Went out to eat seafood that evening. Saturday, June 11th - Lazy day. Played in the pool, napped, etc. Boyfriend's family came over in the evening and we cooked and sat around and talked. Took two hour midnight swim which was heavenly! Sunday, June 12th - 4.5 hour drive from boyfriends house back home. Unloaded the van and helped my son and his girlfriend load up their car for their trip back to school. (My son, his girlfriend and my daughter went with us on vacation). Have been unpacking and then cooked dinner. That's about it! My boyfriend gets too nauseous on those so we got to pass LOL However, the kids rode each one at least two times. That in and of itself was a life saver. Other than that, I would say just pure stubborness. I had not been able to take my kids on a real vacation since 2001 and I was bound and determined not to ruin this one for them. It was very difficult!!! The trip back from Florida I pretty much slept the entire day while we were riding in the van from Florida to New Orleans!! Thatin and of itself was a life saver. Other than that, I would say justpure stubborness.
