Guest guest
MS_bd, I'm Gena, welcome! You have a wonderful attitude and the right idea. Little changes, one day at a time. I am a treadmill user too. I try to get on as much as possible but have been slacking terribly this last year so my goal for 2003 is to not miss nay more days. To get on at least 10 min a day no matter what and 30 min or more 3 or more times a week. I started at 284 Oct 2000 and am 200-205 (after holidays) right now. I hope to be 190 or less by 3/29 and 175 or less by July 9th, another 10-20 more after that. We can do this!!!! Take it one day at a time. Guest guest
Welcome!!! the key to this is accepting that the challenges are always there.....the urge for mt dew etc... the retraining is a process that won't happen overnight....take baby steps....set some mini goals.....if you need to 'wean' yourself off the mt dew.....then set goals...i find weight watchers helpful to calculate points and balance my meals (plus the structure of the meetings)....but that's not for everyone.....keep hearing great things about body for life too.... are you exercising? set a plan for that...to be blunt....to lose the weight we all have to eat less and move more....and the eating needs to be healthier eating....make sure diet is balanced...... you are so right when you say you didn't gain weight overnight....losing won't be that fast either.....we all crave the results...and want them quick....but it doesn't happen that way....we need to be persistent in our quest of our goals!!! take care!! caroline > Hi,here it is the day before the new year and I am getting all the > tools I will need to make this year the year to start living again.I > am 41 and I weigh 240lbs.10 of those pounds I have gained since > Thanksgiving. Guest guest
I have read like keeping a journal, drinking more water > and using my treadmill!!!! @@@@@@@@@@Journal really helps i have a binder of weekly measurements and feelings and goals since june. some times i missed but i can go all th eway to the beginning and yes i am the same but i am healthier. i have more muscle in my upper and lower body and i am focused on my waist now but i just care more about being healthy not just my looks. I > see that this week the group was to give up soda. So,tell me HOW IS > THAT POSSIBLE???? What will I use to replace that urge for Mt. dew?? @@@@@@@@@Honestly not much replaces that craving. i am still struggling during the holidays i went back to lots of soda but i am doing good again. i have gone through caffeine withdrawl, but am doing good. i drink some koolaid instead of the soda but mostly i just go for the water. i take all sodas out of the house nad have crystal light, kool aid and capri sun for when i get those sweet cravings.
