Guest guest
Just two quick questions...first has anyone expereinced that once the head starts to change that it seems to look worse in some areas before it gets better?? After 2 months in the band our son's head is looking better in facial symmetry and also his head height in back (that part my husband sees but I'm still looking). So in general we're happy with the progress so far...especially since our son started a little late. In the past couple weeks he must have had a growth spurt (he'll be one next week!) and his head is devloping out where the flat spot is on the right but only in the top area making the flatter area below more noticeable or angled-in looking. Does that make sense? The development (which is positive I think) starts at the top and stops where the top of the band sits. The band is only tight in the area where it closes on the side (in that holding location). I think that tight hold may be preventing the whole side of his head from developing out. CT says no about this ?? We're traveling so we don't go back until the 17th...CT thinks the band fits fine based on our last visit. I guess I get concerned that it won't keep devloping out down lower and we may have made the flat spot more noticeable than it was to begin with. The second question is about a ridge that has developed in that same area just above where the tight hold is on the side where the band closes. CT says this can be a side effect of the band...and as he gets older it will " blend in " It looks like a horizontal line on the side above where that hold is and the line actually extends around to the back of his head. It also corresponds with the top of the band. I'm hoping it's all positve and just a work in progress...but the guilt over making his head look worse is so overwhelming especially since banding him was such a hard decision and we have so many non-supporters in our family! So please share your expereinces...good or bad...I try to go with my gut instincts about how it's going but everyone's expereinces with this is so helpful. Thanks in advance for all the ideas and support... Amy (Aidan V's mom--Michigan)
