Guest guest
Hi , Last year 's offending tooth was removed and the infected bone scraped and she was put on two rounds of a very strong antibiotic called clindamycin ( which is often used with aids patients). Drs do not like to rx this med because of possible liver complications......... but it's one of the few meds around that will kill everything!! She then went through bone grafting to rebuild the jaw and finally will have an implant surgery this month. But the hiving stopped when she was put on antibiotics. (after coming off antibiotics she continued to hive sporadically for a few months with hot showers, but this eventually totally stopped and she became completely hive free) This was the first time in over 5 years that she did not hive with her triggers. Since last May she has been hive free. We are very happy with this outcome............because was a "shocker"......... she went into anaphylactic shock with every hiving episode, so every time she hived it became a life-threatening emergency for her. And this could happen several times a day. We had to use rescue meds to keep her b/p from plummeting too far and her heart rate from escalating too high. It was a nightmare! But blessedly, 's case has a happy ending, thank you for asking. Love, Myra
