Guest guest
Hi everyone. Well, we are back from Dr. Camp (Ped. Ortho) He said Shane had mild tort and severe (on a scale from 1 to 10, he gave it a 6/7) plagio. He gave him the script for the helmet. There is a company in Vegas called Prosthetic Center of Excellence. I was surprised at this, as I thought I would have to travel a long distance. Anyhow, they use Orthoamerica products, which I believe is the Starband (thanks to the great database on this website:) My dilema now is the fact that we possibly may be moving to South Carolina (soon) (within the next two months) I need to find out if he can get banded here (I think that's the term you use) and then get treated at another facility in South Carolina for his follow up appointments. If not, then I will have to wait till we move and start over. (Find a ped, get a referral to a ped ortho, then get a script, on and on and on....) I need to research this prosthetic center a bit more, but there are closed till Monday and their website is not coming up. So I wait. I do have an appointment with a ped neuro at the end of the month to get a 2nd opinion, but somehow I don't think I need a 2nd opinion. I feel it in my gut that this needs to be done. Sooooooooooooo, that's the scoop for now. For those of you in Florida near the hurricane, I'm thinking of you:) Bye for now. in Vegas mama to Shane
Guest guest
, There are 2 location in SC that use the STARband. You may be able to get continuation of treatment. I don't know anything about them. You would need to interview them too (probably over the phone) to insure they were experienced enough for continuation of treatment. I'm in SC but we went to CT in Charlotte. I'm not sure if CT would work on a StarBand. Where is the closest CT? Guest guest
Hi MOnica, I called one of the centers in South Carolina and they referred me to another office in Trident (I hope I 'm spelling that right) That would be closest to us in Lexington/Irmo area. THey would be happy to continue treatment. That is a relief (not sure about how insurance with a new company is going to work...but I'll deal with that later) We have an appointment on Tuesday for scanning. The ball is rolling................. Have a great day! in Vegas mama to Shane 5 months mild tort/ mod/sev plagio > Hi everyone. Well, we are back from Dr. Camp (Ped. Guest guest
, I'm so glad you are able to get the ball rolling. Shane is at such a good age for treatment. Who knows he may be done by the time you move to SC (I'll keep my fingers crossed). I'm so glad you are able to get the ball rolling. Shane is at such a good age for treatment. Who knows he may be done by the time you move to SC (I'll keep my fingers crossed). Are you planning on " interveiwing " the Trident ortho too? I would highly recommend it. Even for " just " continuation of treatment you need to make sure they have done a few bands otherwise I would drive to ton. JMHO. Do you have the phone number for this office? I would love to get more info about them and put it in the database. Also, if you could share the Las Vegas info because I'm not sure it's in the database.
