I wish there were a cure all for things that happen like this. Things that there was ways to find out why it happens. Maybe once you've calmed down you should ask cause if you were told that it was going to be there I'd want to know why too.

Keep your chin up and your hopes high. Things will work out in the end.

Well this day keeps getting worse. I just heard in my bird room that the AUgust Issue of Bird Talk has hit the stands and my article isn't in it. I feel like I am 16 standing on my front porch waiting for my date for the prom and he just drove by with the homecoming queen and they threw eggs at me. I don't even have the courage to write the managing editor and ask why. Now I hurt inside and outside. ANd my husband isn't here to hold me. I wanna crawl under a rock and die............. Debi

I will never figure out why I have been working so hard the past 4 years trying to feed and care for these birds and I can't even get a little article in a pet Fanciers magazine printed. It is too late to call anyone. I guess I do need to ask her what happened, but like you said when I have calmed down. God all this money I have scraped together for the cages, food the time feeding and cleaning and learning as much as I could about these birds. Must be Bruised Pride. I really needed this right now.

I can't sing, All these medical bills are building up and I am sinking. Guess I am a baby. But I don't care. I needed this. Later DebiLady Vader wrote:

Give it time, give the editor of the magazine a call and see what happened maybe it was nothing more than a mistake. Something that may have slipped past them before printing. I happens from time to time hun. You've worked to hard for something to slip past. But always think maybe it will be in the next issue. Maybe they ran out of room? That could be possible,

I am hoping things work out for you hun

Aww.. Debi! I'm sorry your article wasn't published. Will you get another opportunity to write for Bird Talk again?

I'm so sorry. Life can suck at times. :( I hope you write and ask why. If they won't use the article can you copy and paste your article here? I would love to read it.

Best wishes,

S.

Thanks ,

Looks like it might actually be a good thing. The Issues are actually planed almost 6mths to a year ahead of time and she wanted to fit the article in the august issue because it features Budgies. Our Last email she was already formatting it for the issue but wanted a few more pictures.

A online friend of mine who writes for Dog Fancy told me the same thing happened to her and because the editor didn't want to chop it to pieces they just waited for a later issue and the article appeared in it's entirerty. This also increases my chance to get the cover. SO I emailed her and am just waiting for an answer. I am thinking it will be a good thing now.

Thanks for your kind words. I will email you the article anyway if you like. Debi PuppyBrite18@... wrote:

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.__________________________________________________

Sorry to hear about the mag. not putting your article in, Deb. Their loss! Is there any way they were planning on running it in a future article? The way you described feeling let down and disappointed was classic! I know it's not something on your mind right now, but I LOVE your descriptive writing. Are you the person who complimented me on mine? I can't remember. You are obviously talented. Are there any other bird mags. out there? How about submitting your article to a website about the birds? Or a newsgroup(Usenet)/online group dedicated to birds? Perhaps if you do something like that, all that work you put into writing it won't have been for nothing, because someone will learn something from it. More and more folks are turning to the web now for info, so your article would still get exposure. I hope it works out for you, really. You deserve it! You're a special lady for caring for all your feathered friends. Keep your chin up and don't let anyone ruffle your plumage. <wink>
