I have never had anyone do that, but I would probably

either refuse the request (I DO have other work to do)

or let him know that it's probably going to take me

the rest of the shift to do it. That's insane!

This is a regular feature we are forced to deal with.

As far as I know, there is no specialize format for this 50 state activity.

We kill so many trees in a day, and all of it goes to the trash. We are

told it is recycled. But...

We use Dot Matrix printers, sprocket feed, with boxes of paper that contain

about 2700 sheets give or take. I'd say we keep about 10% or less of that

entire box of paper. The rest is thrown out.

Bus station is where the buses stop.

Train station is where the trains stop.

At my desk, there's a workstation.

yes, a1...b1...c1...but I'd have to look in the LEADS book to know which code

belonged to which state. With Chicago being so close to Indiana, Wisconsin

and Michigan I used to run our state group code...

Chicago 9-1-1

shhhhhhhhhh!!! Don't let them know we can do this!!!

Actually I've only had 3 or 4 street officers in the last 10 years ask for

this. Sometimes investigations will ask it be done. Until recently I'd explain

to the officer/investigator how it ties up the computer with all those

responses and some times they'd say to not do it. With the new system Colorado

has,

you can click " all messages " and get them in one message or several to a

message instead of having to push the message button 50 times.

In Colorado we do it this way. LIS/AP or OLS/AP (ap meaing All

Points). One transaction with at least 50 responses depending if you're

checking for

wants or just RQ or DQ info.

I can get it done in two transactions.....RQ via Nlets by region.....A1, B1,

C1, D1, E1, F1, G1, H1 (Nlets limits you to 5 at a time....).....I can't

remember the last time I did it, but there was a good reason for it....
