Maybe... Just maybe.. you shouldn't have been so insulted.

It's just possible that the Dispatcher was working a protocol

and the first question on the card was " Is there a police

officer nearby " ? (trained in CPR).

Granted, given your location it seems a very silly question,

but at many agencies it is simply beaten into the dispatchers

to " do the protocol " word, by word, every time... no deviation..

none...

That's one of the problems I have with such strict protocols, you

immediately go into them and it tends to shut down " the thinking process.
