Guest guest
Hello~! Just an update. I would love some input. I started my Armour on Monday. 1 grain. My doc was going to go to 1 1/2, but she went with another conversion I take 50mcg. of Synthroid and a 1/4 grain of Armour sublingually first thing in the morn. A few hours later I take my calcium, Zocort, effexor, lithium, and Nuerontin. I take my 1/4 grains 4 to 5 hours apart. Before I go to bed I take calcium(600) nuerontin, and lithium. Whew! I really crash about 4pm!! bad! I ordered Isocort on Tuesday. Anyone know how long it takes. I ordered it from vitaminMD.com. We are moving in three weeks, and want to make sure I don't miss it. I know it has only been four days with Armour, but when I feel good, I feel really good, but when I am down......well, you know. Don't know if this is intensifying my bipolarism,or just normal(whatever that is) reaction. One more question....I really hate the taste of the Armour. Would it make that much difference if I just swallowed it. I hope I make some sense. I'm a little manicky right now. Thanks and Be Blessed, IHS,
Guest guest
Hi there !! OK, first of all, crashing (the lows you mention) on such a small amount of Armour can be par for the course, even with the added T4. If your situation was mine, I'd let go of the Synthroid, and move up to the 1 1/2 grains Armour. You'll end up needing more in the long run, but it's a start. You mention the taste of Armour. Hopefully you are not sucking on it? Ugh---yes, that might taste bad. You really shouldn't taste it if you put it between your lower gums and inner cheek, and forget about it. You can occasionally get a sweet taste, but not much more. As far as swallowing it, yes, you can. The only issue is evidence that most of the calcitonin is destroyed by the stomach acids--and that calcitonin is important for your bones. And you will ultimately need more Armour since some of it is lost via the liver. But you can swallow it. hope that helps. Janie aka ThyroDiva > Just an update. I would love some input. Guest guest
Thank you so much Janie. I had mixed feelings about continuing the Synthroid at all. My doc has only prescribed 1 grain, and does not want to go up any farther. I am thinking about going outside for more. As for the taste, I think I am just aware of it, and maybe sucking a little bit. This may sound odd, but my husband " dips " and I have done it on occasion to show off in front of the guys when I was younger. Maybe be better off putting it under my tongue. I really appreciate your help~! Be blessed! -- Re: My update Hi there !!
