Guest guest Posted November 30, 2007 Report Share Posted November 30, 2007 , Yes you DO need liability insurance and all of your independent contractors (OT PT SLP and asssistants ) need their own policies and you should not let them touch a pt unless you have a current copy of the 1 pg summary of their policy in their personnel records. I just spoke at ASHA convention about risk mgmnt and liability 2 wks ago for 2 hrs. Go to the APTA website and ck out HPPSO I think is the co most PTs use. SLPs use Marsh Affinity Gp. You need a policy for yourself if you treatAND your pratice needs one to cover stuff thatmight happen to others in the bldg, pts, and employees.
