Is there not anyone else in the clinic that can do an adjustment?

Really, he needs to wear the band 23 hours a day to receive optimum

correction. So how long has it actually been since he has been seen

by the ortho and had an adjustment to the band?

Dusty, this is the only one here who does the helmets. I could try

to ask to be sent to another for an in between visit, but he was hard

pressed to come up with a good recommendation, and was just going to

give me a few names of the others ant other Hanger places. I feel

wary of having a stranger adjust things. Who knows, maybe they would

do it better! We did discuss it and I could try for that. Our appt

with him is a week from today.

It has been since Monday, June 14th, and he had to make more room all

around inside after only 5 days since our last visit. We were both

concerned that it was to be a 16 day stretch between, and we had

never made it a week. Just seemed like there was nothing that could

be done. The guy deserves a vacation. I just am frustrated because

they really need a solid vacation coverage plan for these

situations. He had hoped the extra room he made would help.

Thanks for your help. Mish

Mish, I agree, everyone deserves a vacation, but when you're in the

business he is in or hell, for that matter, ANY business there

should always be someone that can handle an emergency. Not everyone

can be on vacation during this time. Have you contacted the clinic

to see if they have someone that can do an adjustment? My daughter

only went the full 14 days between adjustments twice in the 12.5

weeks she was banded. She grew like a weed!

Dustie, thanks for the support. He is, in fact, the only one who

does the helmets at his clinic. I was thinking of calling for a

referral to another site, but I figure they will not want to see us.

If they didn't do the helmet, they don't make any money off it(it is

an all inclusive charge). But I will call and ask what I should do.

Honestly, I thought we finally had a great adijustment and some extra

room last visit, and thought it would be okay. I figured because so

many people only go every 2 weeks.

Of course they should have some coverage(including an arrangemnt with

another facility) and I should have been more aggressive about it

last visit. Hindsight and all that, but I had thought it was okay.

Argh. It is so tough too, when I have to drag my antsy 4yo to the

appts, which I did last time and he spent forever working with us,

and having us sit for a bit to check for spots and such. I just end

up wanting to get out of there and do not think as clearly as if I

were alone. I know I never could have done the trips to CT(2 hours

in the car each way) when I have to bring her just 30 mins from home

for these visits!

Thanks for the help. mish
