Guest guest
Am making my first batch of homemade yogurt. Am trying to make it in the oven with a 60 watt bulb.....I don't have a yogurt maker yet as I live in rural Wyoming and can't find one....am going to have to order one....anyhow has anyone had luck with this method? What is the best yogurt maker to buy? Also if I double the receipe in the book should I add double the store bought yogurt to it too? Guest guest
I am using this methed. I couldn't get a 60W bulb that screwed into the oven so am using one that clips onto a shelf, but plugs in outside. I need to leave the oven door slightly ajar to get the temperature right. This method allows you to do as much or as little as you like - I do a gallon of milk plus a carton of half and half at a time, using a large saucepan. I double the amount of starter if I double the amount of milk. It comes out great! Ann > Am making my first batch of homemade yogurt.
