Guest guest
Donna, Welcome. Sorry you had to find us. I just joined about a month ago. I have found a lot of info. You can review archives. Unfortunately I don't have that much time to do that, so I try to stay on top of the daily notes in hopes I will find something I am missing. Anyway, hives for 22 years. Never had a remission. Am allergic to aspirin and anti- inflammatories and sulfa. Haven't found any other allergies. If I were you, I would INSIST (easier said than done) on more testing than just the lupus and thyroid. I think doctors are afraid to test too much because of insurance companies. How hard is it to take another vial or two of blood to run every test possible? How can they rule things out without checking on them first? Take your husband (if you are married), or a family member with you to the doctor. Seems they take you a little more seriously if you have someone with you who can confirm you get hives everyday. Anyway, good luck, but search the internet and the archives to see ! what tests should/could be run f or you. I heard about a possible connection to dental fillings. I am taking this seriously, as I am allergic to metals and am beginning to wonder if the fillings are what is making me sick. I will have them removed and replaced eventually. I have been to several doctors and even upon insistence they throw me a zyrtec and wish me luck. I think the insurance company rules the world now. I am not married and I really have no one to go with me to the doctor. I have an eating disorder and clinical depression and some doctors have suggested that if I were not so underweight that it may boost my immune system. I tried to gain weight and it stressed me out so bad the hives got even worse. It is just so perplexing!!! It is so frustrating to not get the medical attention you pay so dearly for every year! I don't see how people testing blood for a living are even making a living anymore since it seems such a monumental task on the part of the physician to order blood test. << Donna, Welcome.
