Guest guest
I just had to respond to a recent email. I have had CU since April of 2000 and have been visiting this site since August. Recently, my hives have been pretty much under control and right now I am trying to wean myself off of some of the meds. I am supposed to take Allegra/zantac in the morning and Zyrtec/Zantac at night. For the last couple of weeks I have just taken the A/Z combo as needed. My allergist advised me to take them daily even if i wasn't hiving for the time being because I have so much histamine in my body. He gave me some advice about not living my life around my hives. I am 32 years old, married for almost 4 years, who very much would like to get pregnant. Other dr's have said that I should not get pregnant while on the meds but the allergist says it is no big deal. All of the information that I read about the drugs says that women who are pregnant should not take them. My allergist says a few weeks won't hurt. I am deathly afraid of doing something to my child if I should get pregnant. This is how this condition alters my life. But, I know I couldn't live with myself if I caused my child problems. I know God doesn't give people more than they can handle, but I am afraid of taking chances. I would like to hear from some of the women on the site about experiences with meds, CU and pregnancy. I could use some advice, too. THANK YOU so much everyone, for always being there..... Cara J. in Ohio
