Guest guest
We are due to take our son Sam (3 months) to Dr Blecher in London in July. We wish to ensure that the orthotic cranioplasty treatment is legal in the UK and that Dr Blecher is licensed to practice here. Has anyone been to Dr Blecher and been concerned about this also? Guest guest
Hello Nicola I am the one that just shot you an email. We saw Dr. Blecher in Germany, but there are 2 or 3 families in England that have seen him there. He works with the hospital in Eng. so I assume he has a license there as well. When you say cranioplasty what exactly do you mean? Are you talking about the helmet therapy or about surgery? Dr. Blecher is a cranial facial surgeon. Helmet therapy is not liked in the UK for what reason I do not know, but it is legal. There is also a registered orthotist there that does the STARband and he is BUPA certified. I think that tells you a bit more than it does me. Please let me know if you need any further information. Ian (Adam's Dad) is also in the member section and can be contacted offline. He is happy to help. Guest guest
Thanks for replying. I just want to be sure we are not breaking the law or hurting my babby. Cranioplasty is plastic surgery to the head, but orthotic cranioplasty is using band or helmet. That is the medical jargon for it. Hence "DOC" bands as the letters stand for "dynamic orthotic cranioplasty". Anyway, I would like to contact Ian(Adam's dad). How do I do that? ThanksSandy <samipa74@...> wrote: Hello NicolaI am the one that just shot you an email. We saw Dr. Blecher in Germany, but there are 2 or 3 families in England that have seen him there. Guest guest
thanks that's kind of you.redlocks2003 <redlocks@...> wrote: Nicola,Ian has his email listed in the Helmet/Band Database for offlist email contact if any new members would like to know about his experience with Dr. Blecher, plagio treatment in the UK, etc. He may see your post here anyway and respond, but if not, here is his email address:ianadele@... As Sandy said, we have had several members from the UK who have received treatment from Dr. Blecher with his helmet, so I hope they will respond to your post soon. He is even travelling for treatment to treat a group member's baby in Switzerland. With your son being so young, you should certainly see excellent correction!Take care,Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy)> > We are due to take our son Sam (3 months) to Dr Blecher in London > in > > July.> > > > We wish to ensure that the orthotic cranioplasty treatment is > legal > > in the UK and that Dr Blecher is licensed to practice here.> > > > Has anyone been to Dr Blecher and been concerned about this also?> > > > For more plagio info
