Hi!!!!

This is our official Day 1!!!! So far so good.

I was wondering if anyone here is catholic, and what do you do for

communion... I know there are some rice wafflers that are available,

but since we started the SCD diet, that would be illegal!!!!

My son's first communion is May 2. Please help!!!!

Coral,

I am not Catholic, so please pardon my questions if they are silly.

Can you bring your own wafer for him?

What do they serve as the " wine " ?

You know, I actually wondered what to do about this myself. This past Sunday

was the first time our Presbyterian church has had communion since I've begun

SCD. I just broke off as small a piece of bread as I could, and dipped it in

the wine. But as I ate it I tried to focus on " remembrance of Him " but found

myself thinking, " I hope I don't hurt later " . Wondered what to do, though,

hated to refuse it, think I'll ask my pastor what he suggests. Our kids don't

do communion yet so that's not an issue, but it is for ME.

Hi All,

We are Catholic and it is our belief that the host and wine become

the Body of Christ and the Blood of Christ when consecrated by a

priest. You can not give a rice wafer for communion, it has to be

made out of wheat because that is what Jesus used in the Last

Supper. As for taking the Body of Christ and Blood of Christ while

on SCD, someone previously mentioned that the belief in the

transformation is enough to allow one to take communion and not be

affected by the earthly ingredients it is made out of. Look back in

the last couple of months and you'll see that person's post on this

list. Take care and everyone have a Blessed Easter or a great

Passover. Becky in Chesapeake, VA with 10 yr old on SCD 9+ weeks,

who received communion while on GFCF diet but hasn't received it

while on SCD until this coming Sunday on Easter.
