Guest guest
Hi Lynda, I absolutely have lots of ups & down when I increase my dose. I keep a diary so I can look back over what happened & so to tell myself it's normal while I adjust. I can get days of crying, can't sleep etc, feel massively underactive for a couple of days then the body adjusts. I think I said this happens for weeks, but having checked over my diary, I'd say a month to get used to each dose, but mine has just been increased again, so I'll be on 3.5 grains soon, then up to four. I'll be sure to post on what happens. Don't fret, keep telling yourself it will settle down soon because it will. Honest! Fee x interesting that you say you have lots of ups and downs when you increase your dose. Do you ever experience a day or so of unexplained crying and/or worse sleep when you change your dose? This keeps happening to me and I can't think of any other reason > Lynda
Guest guest
Hi Fee, I also keep a diary and I thought that these strange episodes were due to the increase in dose. I am also menopausal and that can also cause the same symptoms but now, looking at my diary, I am sure it is due to the increase in Armour. I started a higher dose last Tuesday, had a dreadful night Friday, on Saturday I was terrible crying all the time, yesterday a little better and today I am fine <g> Lynda Re: Falling into hypo again Hi Lynda, I absolutely have lots of ups & down when I increase my dose. Guest guest
Speaking of dose changes, when I went for the Thyroid uptake study, they couldn't do it b/c, unknown to me, I was supposed to be off thyroid meds for 10 to 14 days prior. So they rescheduled or 12 days later. I didn't take my med Friday morning as I was waiting to hear from the doc. I had left a message tht doing without my Armour for 12 days scared me to death. The nurse returned his call Friday afternoon to continue my medicine and see him today (monday). I immediately took my meds, but had just eaten a very late lunch. On top of that, I swallowed them before thinking I should take them sublinguilly. I said all that to say that Friday was a MISERABLE day. It amy have all been in my head, but I felt terrible... exhausted, foggy brain, and just couldn't get my act together. I took my meds at the normal time early Sat morning, but this mess continued into the day. I slurred my speach four times Saturday... .... I'm talking major slurs, not minor tongue tying. Sunday was normal except I was still tired. Went to bed at six o'clock and didn't get up, except for a few potty breaks, until six this am. Could all this have been from missing that one dose, or is it all in my head? I have been on 1 1/4 grain for almost three weeks now and plan to increase in a couple of weeks. Blessings, Debbie K. Guest guest
Bless you I'm so glad you feeling better. I've just had the go-ahead from my thyroid doctor to up my dose again from 3 to 4 grains, so I'll probably be feeling the same soon too. You may want to consider raising a lot sooner than a couple of weeks......Your ideal dose may end up being 2 grains and higher......
