Guest guest
Wow, you have been through it. I had implants put in the day of surgery, then I was in the hospital for 9 days during christmas. I got staph and lost my implants, and now this week, YEAH, I finish rads (already had chemo) and I am done with treatment. The ideal of another surgery, YUK! I am going to just chill for awhile. Good luck to you. Ren
Guest guest
I was released and the infection control doctor did not come in and see me at all. I wondered why they did not have him visit me. I questioned it though, and they called me and just said, it's something that anyone can get when in surgery. I did get sick after I got out, I got the flu. I had to take two rounds of antibiotics. I didn't think I would ever get over that, I had it for four weeks. Since then I have been doing good. I sure wish you all the luck in the world. I am going to wait for resconstruction. I am just tired and want a break from making any decisions. I am going to enjoy my summer, taking a cruise in July, go to California to visit my daughter after that and see my grandchildren, and overall just enjoy life. Finish the book I started and pray that God will keep me healthy. ren

Guest guest
I went to see a local lady for a new prosthesis bra the other day and she showed me a different kind of prosthesis that is made from a mold of the good existing breast. It can be ordered in any number of skin tones to match your own skin color and it kind of glues in place for wearing comfort. Anyone ever tried it. I can't remember the name of it.I don't want to try to fit anymore surgeries into my schedule right now either..georgiarendurall@... wrote: I was released and the infection control doctor did not come in and see me at all. Guest guest
Georgia, A few yrs back there was one that you attached to the body. I had asked about it but didn't get it as I am allergic to certain types of tape. They evidentally came up with a newer version of it. Guest guest
I'm allergic to certain types of tape as well. I usually ask for paper tape now that I know. I just thought that if I really did not want surgery again this may be a good compromise. It just won't get me the lift and reduction I was looking forward to......but there is no recovery time either and possible mishaps.....There are always trade offs...I just have to decide . After I have all my check ups this summer I think about it more....georgiacharles svihlik wrote: Georgia, A few yrs back there was one that you attached to the body. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Thank you for writing. I am happy to hear you are doing great and hope you continue to do even better. Hopefully you'll get to feeling fantastic. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers too Sandy -------Original Message------- Hi Sandy, Just want to say hello. I was diagnosed in March 2004 with invasive and in-situ ductal carcinome. I had a lumpectomy then a mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction (but that didn't take). I had chemo but no radiation. I finished chemo in Oct. I didn't get sick, just tired and a little winded. I had a lumpectomy on my right breast in Jan. but that was OK. I had a tissue expander but in but taken out because of infection in April. Now I will have reconstruction again In Sept. But believe me I am doing great! I feel fine and everything is OK. I just finished all my tests again for another 6 months and everything turned out fine. I hope everything goes good for you.Just keep thinking only good thoughts. My prayers are with you. Donna Sandy wrote: Hi I'm Sandy I just got back from the doctor and it is as I feared. I have Ductal Carcinoma. She said there is different variations of this and that I have the aggressive type. I will have surgery on July 1 and she will remove the lump and also check to see if it went to the lymph glands.I have to go within the next few days for tests to see if it went to my bones, lungs, liver etc. After surgery I will have to have either chemo or radiation. So if anyone out there wants to write and say hi or whatever I sure would be glad to hear from you Hugs Sandy LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!!
