Guest guest
Amy, Sorry I didn't repsond sooner, we went out of town. Jax is doing ok, still sick though. Called the doc, left a message twice for the neuro with no call back so I called his ped. He said that since they were minor, that they wouldnt repeat the MRI at this time. Its quite frustrating... How's Jaden? I read the post about you talking to Dr. M about it being minor. Which is GREAT. We see Dr tomorrow - so hopefully we get some type of idea about Jax's feet. OH, on Sat night at the hotel we were at, Jax got up on all 4's for a second. It's giving me some hope ... 11.5 months old and just doing that... I really didn't think he would. Ok, gotta work for a bit.. I'm gonna post a new pic later this morning and will post a message here when it's up... Guest guest
Kim, YEY congrats to Jax! That is a huge milestone for him and I bet you are feeling so great about that right now! What a nice thing to see after all that he has been going thru, it must be a little sign reassuring you that all will be well, but on HIS own time, lol. I never did ask you how that wknd went w/ your friends at the cabin? And yes, very frustrating about the MRI, isn't there any way you can chew them out to get it done sooner? I bet you've already chewed enough I'm guessing.... I'll go look at Jax's pics after I post this. Jaden is doing well. I gave up on the tape for a nite, got so frustrated. Then I gave him a bath the next nite, and decided that I'd do it because I couldn't live w/ the guilt if I didn't try for his sake, and I was getting frustrated, and he sensed it and turned for me like a perfect little gentleman and let me put it on him. I was sooooooooo overwhelmed and proud of him. I also skipped the milk of magnesia this time because I don't have the time to let it sit and dry, and if I blow it dry w/ my mouth or a piece of paper, it kinda disturbs him if he's nodding off. I'm proud to say the tape has stayed on for 3 days now! YEY. I forget, but WHAT is the purpose of the M.O.M. again???? Refresh my memory. Anyways, I know this is crazy but I swear he can read my mind. With our dog and cat I always " think and show " them in my mind what it is that I am requesting or wanting, and they usually get the picture and " listen " to me, it's amazing. (Do you ever watch that psychic pet lady on tv?) So w/ Jaden I've been doing this and did this w/ the tape and he knew exactly what I had to do and why. Then I figured out why I've been getting so frustrated w/ the taping and that is because when I give Jaden a bath I use that lavender baby oil and it stays on his skin, and this is the reason why the tape slips off or doesn't stay on long. DUH! I thought about that when Ann showed me a week ago how to take the tape off w/ baby oil, and bells started ringing a few days later in my head.... So I am skipping the oil in his bath, and skipping the M.O.M. for now and next taping might use the M.O.M. and permantly skip the oil during baths until we no longer use the tape. Ok. Enough about the tape talk. Finding a new PT for Jaden is getting hard. There is absolutley NO ONE qualified enough w/ tort over at Virginia hsptl PT center to work w/ Jaden. I talked w/ a gal on the phone and she was very honest w/ me, and had only worked w/ one tort baby who's parents never brought the baby back to complete the PT there. I am disappointed to say the least. Makes me want to go to school to learn PT just for tort and practice in this area, I can't imagine how many tort babies there are in this area that has gone undiagnosed! And Jaden was one of them! UGH. She reccommended someone over in Hibbing, I'll make the call tomorrow. But heck, if I'm gonna be going to Hibbing, 45 minutes away, I might as well go the extra 15 minutes and stay in Duluth instead. I have no trust in the medical community up North here, they are all a bunch of idiots. NOW I finally realize why anyone south of the Iron Range thinks we are all idiots up here, because we ARE. However, my mom is checking out one more person at the hsptl in Aurora in the morning and is gonna get back to me. I'll keep you posted. I am still waiting for Jaden's pede to call back w/ a referral to a pede reflux specialist also.... the moron only managed to call in a script for his Zantac and didn't call me back regarding the referral. And I am hoping to find a chiro to work w/ Jaden so that maybe I can avoid seeing this specialist first, because from what I understand the chiro can help w/ his tort/scoliosis/reflux because they seem to all go together. Correct me if I am wrong. Well, I better get going. Glad all is well, I hope Jax is getting better. You getting any more sleep? lol. Ya right! ~Amy > > Kim, > > Where are you???? How is Jax???? Guest guest
Mornin' Kim, Yey for Jax sitting up yesterday! I am very happy for all of you. Did Kim at the front desk give you the cards that I left you? I spoke w/ Ann on the phone yesterday also, she explained to me again about the M.O.M. and Jaden still has a titch of redness today (I took the tape off last nite), so I will be using that stuff again. However, I read on the Tort Kids website that taping is usually used AFTER correction has been made, even after a tot collar has been used, in order to help " remind " him not to tilt. Go figure. I also found a few PT's over here in Aurora at White Community Hsptl thru my mom asking around (she works there), and they are supposed to be excellent. I tried Virginia hsptl, but no one was qualified enough, but then that lady gave me Bev Schulte's name over in Hibbing at SMDC Clinic, who is like the guru (sp?) of tort pt. And after talking w/ Ann yesterday, she REALLY reccommended her. But mom said the two PT's she spoke w/ are just as good as this Bev (because they said so, lol, and attended her lectures and know everything Bev knows), so we will try locally and see how it goes, at least for now it'll save us LOTS on gas since it's only 5 miles away. I am also having my doubts on the CranioCap and how much more Jaden will achieve thru it. He'll be getting a major adjustment tomorrow by Steve in that he'll be popping out the top back portion to allow more growth for rounding. Right now the top back of his noggin is a bit flat, kinda sloping, and I am hoping this adjustment will allow more rapid growth. On top of ALL this, our little man is getting his FIRST TOOTH, and I just felt it coming thru today. He has been eating really crappy the past few days, well, know I know why, because the bottle is creating discomfort for him. Once I put orajel on that little tooth, he woofed down his lunch. Good boy ;o) Gotta go water the plants. You keep me posted on Jax and what Dr. says. I am glad he's in good hands w/ him. I really like that guy myself. ~Amy > > > > Kim, > > > > Where are you????
