Guest guest
Whitecap - are these all signs of liver mal-function? What do they mean? Patti in MI Are you having pale stools or stools that float? Any unusual abdominal bloating? Like excess fluid bloating? Is your skin more itchy than normal? Do you have any small bumps under your skin that look like fat or are off white -- kind of like a " ripe " pimple, but not a pimple?
Guest guest
Janet, i am so glad we have a nurse participating here! Thanks for dispensing your knowledge. Blessings, Debbie K. /Jaundice , Was just reading about your jaundice and had to comment and throw some things out at you. Personally, I think you need to watch this carefully. Just the nurse in me! Guest guest
Janet, The endo told me today that they did a SGOT & SGPT and both were normal. That was on February 9th (4 weks ago). DO you think that much can change in that short period of time? Thank you! P.S. the eyes are not dark yellow. > > Hi everyone, > > > > I don't know if I have scared the crap out of myself, but I mentioned > > in another group about have this sallow color to my skin (pale with a > > yellowish tinge). Guest guest
, There's the " N " word again! Gotta love those doctors! :-) Yes, I think things could change in 4 weeks. Anything can change in 4 weeks. Probably not something real serious but it's often a matter of degrees. Were your SGOT/SGPT on the lower end of " normal, " upper end or right in the middle. Mine, too, were " normal " but in the upper end. Did they do a bilirubin, too? Alkaline phosphatase? Just other components of the liver panel, along with total protein and albumin. That your eyes weren't a dark yellow is naturally a good thing, but the fact that you noticed they were yellow signifies a change of some kind. Again, ..... try not to get too worried here. Just keep these things in mind and watch yourself and if things change or get worse, get it checked out. Just let your doc know when you see her or talk to her again, okay? Part of what I do is educate and I feel it's best that people know what to look for when a problem presents itself so they can get help if things get worse. Dont worry, things will be okay! :-) Janet > Janet, > > The endo told me today that they did a SGOT & > SGPT and both were normal. That was on February 9th (4 weks ago). Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your knowledge - it certainly makes sense to me now. The assortment of questions struck me as odd, but your explanations are very comprehensive and helpful. Thanks for putting it together for us!
