Guest guest
Gunnoe's Bacon Cured with water, salt, sodium phosphates, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrate. I found Gwaltney's at Kmart but it is thick sliced and we prefer the thin that fries thin and crispy. Hope that helps ! PS: I'm kindof new at this so if I am incorrect about anything being legal, please let me know. >>> jenniferandmiguel@... 4/3/2004 11:18:59 PM >>> > Hi Diane, > Where are you finding legal bacon? I have looked all over including the Gwaltey's (I think that was it) at Walmart which someone suggested. > Blessings, > Doreen Hi Doreen, I'm not Diane, but we use Hempler's bacon - the one that is nitrate free, uncured, and the only ingredients are Pork, Salt, Honey, and Spices - someone checked a long time ago and the spices are ok - no powders, etc. This bacon is fabulous (and a bit pricey $4.00 for 12oz). This is a company in Bellingham, WA, but maybe you could see if they ship, or if your HFS would order it. They have other bacons, so be sure to get the one with honey, not sugar. Their website is: www.hemplers.com Warning: once you try this bacon, you'll never want to eat " regular " bacon again. It is lean and the honey is soooooooo good. son - almost 5yo, ASD, SCD one year For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info and http://www.pecanbread.com

Guest guest
At Shop and Save in Masontown PA. Will give address of butcher shop when I get home and 800 # so you can see if they deliver elsewhere. They have hotdogs and sausage without sweetener. But some of their other products do have it. The Gunno's bacon I find at shop and save in Masontown PA and in town WV as well. I have yet to find safe ham unfortunately that you can buy in a store. >>> theanimallover@... 04/05/04 10:30AM >>> Where are you finding Albert's and do they have a ham? Guest guest
Doreen, If you are okay with the nitrates, just go to Meijer and get the Meijer brand low salt bacon. It should say sugar free right on the label. Also, FIELD makes a no sugar bacon, which I can get at our Buehler's Buy-Low. Ingredients: Cured with water, salt, sodium phosphate, sodium erythorbate and sodium nitrate. Much easier than ordering from out of state. I am going to call Sam's Club and see if they have the salt cured hams available for Easter. I'll post what I find out.
