Nigel,

I've taken the liberty of forwarding your message to one of our aero med people.

Stretches

Picking brains time again...

Has anybody got definitive answers on what type of stretchers to use in

aircraft?

I appreciate that different aircraft/companies/countries may well have their

own ideas, but has their been any good research.

The aircraft I have available for my Medevacs are either a Twin otter or a

Beech 1100D

Regards to all,

Nigel

Helo stretchers...what ever make you go for make sure if you are going to

winch it; it has a vented design, or the patient and attendant will spin in

the down wash. The Navy use a stokes litter...still.

- I never take Sydney's helmet off during stretches -

sometimes we do them without the helmet if her hair is drying,

etc.. I was never told specifically to take it off and I agree -

leverage is great!!! Sydney has PT tomorrow - I will ask. -

hi susan,

i wanted to do the PT with them helmet on also but our orthist

said to take it off because with it on you can't get the ears flat

enough,(on the side twist stretch) and on the one where you lean the

head over she said it really doesn't get in the way but if you are

not careful you can pinch the skin. there are still times when

i " cheat " , but i usually take it off.
