Funny, but I guess I can add some to this thread. I never thought of

my mom as a stalker.

There was a time that I lived in a rooming house, in a city 45 minutes

from where my mom lived, the year I moved out.

My mom would actually drive around the neighborhood with my kid

brother in tow. She'd talk to neighbors, ask them about me. Never told

me, and I have always been a bit protected from stuff I didn't know.

When I was an adult, my brother filled me in on what mom had been up

to. Poor kid. But he witnessed stalking, I'd guess. Now he lives on an

island, that requires either a three hour drive to reach by road, or a

30 minute ferry ride. Nada is afraid to take a car on the ferry. Thank

God!

My mom also has been known to visit people out of state and even out

of country by surprise. When my husband was abroad, my mom paid a

wonderful surprise visit to our apartment, from three states away.

She ended up exhausting my neighbor, because I stayed away at a

friend's house, and she... of course, made a point of talking to my

neighbor all about me. My neighbor thankfully was on the same page as

me.

My mom also tried to visit our current home by surprise, but thank God

for my dad who reads maps literally. There was a misprint " RD " instead

of " DR " after our street name. They had to concede and call from a

hotel room. If it had not been my husband answering I'd have told

nada, " I am sorry you missed us. Maybe next time you can call before

you come. Bye! "

I'd not thought of any of this as stalking before... just that nada

had to " find out " who I " really " was. Is my daughter really an OK

person? Let's see what she is up to when she thinks no one is

looking...Always looking to see if she could find you being just the

way you are, nothing to hide. Geez, almost like a peeping Tom, only it

is the person who gave birth to me. As if she owns me/us? Yikes.
