Guest guest
Hi all,I've researched Speak and Nutriivida both in the past and kind of came to the conclusion that both were risky and not studied enough so I gave up but lately my son's apraxia has been really at the top of my mind and I'm thinking that he might be able to benefit from either of these. I know they are both controversial but not really sure why. I've read all the wonderful testimonials for each but am more interested in peoples' critical analyses. I read that for Speak a topic of concern is the high dose vitamin E -- I'm wondering what the danger is here. My son had very low vitamin E levels in his bloodwork and I've read testimonials that kids overall muscle tone, complexion and motor planning were improved from taking Speak, not just their speech. Could their be a correlation with low vitamin E levels and the low tone/skin tone/motor planning? Any or all experiences with either or both would be so appreciated. Thanks,Leah
Guest guest
I think any deficiency can cause problems in many areas because even if it doesn't directly cause a problem, it can cause chain reactions to indirectly cause a problem. Low cholesterol is often blamed for low muscle tone. My girl's improved upon taking digestive enzymes and allowing her to consume fats, like chicken skin. Coconut oil seemed to help her as well. It's not only consuming fats, but making sure they are either easily digested or giving digestive aids to make sure they get digested. Google " cholesterol autism muscle tone " for more information. There are water-based Vitamin E products, I think Aqua E is the name of a high quality brand. This is actually recommended in a normal dose fashion, but due to being more easily absorbed, the usual RDA dose is all that is needed. Guest guest
I think, if I remember right, the concern with SPEAK was with the high dose of Vit K and some people were saying it induced seizures. If you go into the cherab yahoo group and search the archives you should be able to confirm that. They all rave about Nutriiveda--I have been thinking about trying this down the line but we just started anti seizure meds so I am holding off for now. I think though that if you are on Enhansa it says not to take other forms of circumin...and I think there is tumeric in Nutriiveda...could that be it? > > I think any deficiency can cause problems in many areas because even if > it doesn't directly cause a problem, it can cause chain reactions to > indirectly cause a problem.
