Can be kept in refrigerator for 24 hours, and then a new batch should be made.

Coconut water is not legal on SCD.

Except for my eldest's throwing up incident (3x in 30 minutes) after 24 hours on the diet, we are no longer experiencing die-off.Now, we're just really hungry. And losing weight. Is this diet for real? Is a "no die-off" situation an indication we are doing it wrong? We ate: chicken, eggs, water (with a splash of grape juice), homemade pear sauce, chicken soup, cooked carrots, gelatin flavored with grape juice. Oh, and chicken. Did I mention chicken? Lots of chicken.TSent from my iPhone

Tom, hop on the GFCFkids message board - you will find oodles and oodles of recipes and foods to eat. There's a couple of kick a** cooks who exchange new recipes almost every single day -also, you guys can go through the archives to find good stuff. There is no reason why you guys should feel hungry or bored with your food - there's TONS to eat. Good luck! : )To: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Cc: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Sent: Wed, June 30, 2010 8:08:46 AMSubject: Re: Re: SCD intro diet die-off, nausea and vomiting.

I have heard on Paleo Diet groups, that there is a "low carb flu" they experience, I don't know if they attribute that to withdrawal or yeast die-of. --- ToniTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed,

Did you start the intro with pear sauce? That's a stage 1 food. I'd sat

vomiting is a definite die off reaction. I have one kid that vomits on intro

and one that doesn't. So no die off doesn't mean that anything is wrong. Also,

take a look at the pecanbread website. There are recipes that you can make for

intro and stage 1. I know the kids are STARVING the first few weeks. That is

the bad gut bacteria that really wants to be fed. After about a month, the

STARVING will slow down a bit, although my kids still eat a ton. They are super

active, so it's not that surprising.

Also, be careful when you get to stage 2 and start nut butters (unless you have

allergies to nuts, then it doesn't matter). A lot of kids are unable to

tolerate nut butters and it sometimes takes a while to figure it out. I was

making nut butter baked items for like 6 months before I finally figure out what

I was doing wrong. I saw all kinds of improvement after I removed nuts.

We did SCD for 2 months,I lost 10 pounds and hubby lost 20-which he did not need to lose but when my son who could not afford to lose weight started losing we had to stop. We did see die off and some gains but it was too much work for a woman with 3 toddlers and a full time job. I affectionately called it Starvation (and) Confinement Diet,I was confined to my home doing nothing but cooking and cleaning all the pots and pans and we all felt like we were starving. LOL
